Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner contends that the petitioner has raised a dispute as to the electric bills in respect of the electric meter-inquestion from the month of January, 2021 onwards. It is contended that there was no basis for such bills. Learned counsel appearing for the CESC Limited controverts such submissions and further submits that the Grievance Redressal Officer (GRO) concerned has jurisdiction to decide such dispute.

The contention of the CESC Limited as regards jurisdiction is accepted.

WPA 10468 of 2021 along with IA NO: CAN 2 of 2021 are disposed of by directing the GRO, before whom the petitioner's application, if any, is pending, to dispose of the dispute raised by the petitioner as expeditiously as possible, but preferably within a

fortnight from date upon giving opportunity of hearing to all interested parties. In the event the petitioner has not raised any objection in the meantime, liberty is granted to the petitioner to move the concerned GRO on the basis of such allegations. If so moved within one week from date, the GRO shall dispose of the same within a fortnight thereafter, subject to an opportunity of hearing being given to the interested parties.

The parties shall act on the written communication of this order by the learned Advocates for the parties, accompanied by server copies of this order, without insisting upon prior production of a certified copy thereof.

There will be no order as to costs.

Urgent photostat certified copies of this order, if applied for, be made available to the parties upon compliance with the requisite formalities.
