The petitioner undertakes to affirm and stamp the petition/application as per the Rules within one month of resumption of normal functioning of the Court. The petition is taken up through video conference on the basis of such undertaking.

CRAN 1 of 2020 is accordingly, disposed of.

This is an application for bail in connection with Raninagar Police Station Case No. 60 of 2019 dated 30th January, 2020. The learned Counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner has fairly submitted that on an earlier occasion the application for bail was rejected. We have perused the earlier order dated 17th July, 2019. We do not find any change in circumstances for which we may exercise our jurisdiction to grant bail.

Furthermore, having considered the materials on record and bearing in mind the prima facie involvement of the petitioner in the commission of rape and murder of a minor and in view of the gravity of offence, we are not inclined

to grant bail to the petitioner.

The application for bail is thus, rejected.

However, we request the learned trial court to expedite the trial and conclude the same as early as possible, preferably within a period of six months from the date of resumption of normal functioning of the court. (Jay Sengupta, J.) (Soumen Sen, J.)
