Heard the learned Advocates appearing for the parties. It is submitted on behalf of the petitioner that he has been falsely implicated in the instant case.

Learned Advocate appearing for the State opposes prayer for anticipatory bail and submits petitioner had assaulted police personnel who were discharging public duty. We have considered the materials on record. Statements of witnesses including the injury report disclose identity of the petitioner as one of the persons who physically assaulted police personnel who were on patrol duty.

In view of the gravity of the offence which shows brazen disregard for law and order and obstruction to discharge of public duty, we are of the opinion that this is not a fit case to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

Accordingly, the prayer for anticipatory bail of the petitioner is rejected.
