The petitioner no.1 is a member of the Chandannagar Co-operative Credit Society Limited. The respondent no.2 is the erstwhile Chairman of the said society. They pray that in view of the expiry of the tenure of the Board on June 11, 2022, the West Bengal Co-operative Election Commission shall take immediate steps to hold the election of the said society.

This Court directs the West Bengal co-operative Election Commission to hold the election of the society, in accordance with law.

Such election shall be completed mandatorily within a period of six months from date of communication of this order.

Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of. However, there will be no orders as to costs. All the parties are directed to act on the basis of the server copy of this order.
