The petitioner is in custody for 110 days and prays for bail. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that there was a love relationship between the petitioner and the defacto complainant and the complaint has been lodged after the petitioner got married. Learned counsel for the defacto complainant and the State oppose the prayer.

Learned counsel for the defacto complainant submits that the petitioner has been threatening the victim with dire consequences through the local police station and creating pressure upon her to withdraw the complaint.

Considering the gravity of the offence as well as the chances of the petitioner influencing the witnesses as well as intimidating the victim if released on bail at this stage, the prayer for bail is rejected at this stage.

The application for bail is disposed of.
