The petitoner seeks appointment on compassionate ground.

It appears that the three men enquiry committee has already opined in favour of the petitioner for being provided appointment in a post in the Gram Panchayat. The District Panchayat & Rural Development Officer, Murshidabad has resubmitted the proposal for appointment of the petitioner on compassionate ground on January 3, 2022 and the same is pending consideration at the end of the Deputy Director of Panchayat & Rural Development Department.

It has been submitted that no step has been taken by the Deputy Director despite receipt of all the documents in January 2022.

The respondent authorities ought to appreciate that appointment on compassionate ground is required to be given on urgent basis to help the family to tide over the

immediate financial crisis faced on the death of the bread-earner.

In the present case, the employee concerned died in the year 2016. Though prompt steps were taken by the petitioner to apply for the job, but due to the dilatory tactics of the respondents, the petitioner is yet to be provided the job. The three men enquiry committee has already answered in favour of the petitioner. The department is accordingly required to take immediate steps for providing appointment to her. In view of the above, the instant writ petition is disposed of by directing the respondent no. 3, the Deputy Director, Directorate of Panchayat and Rural Development to immediately take steps pursuant to the proposal forwarded by the District Panchayat and Rural Development Officer, Murshidabad.

The aforesaid respondent shall intimate the fate of her application to the petitioner within a period of ninety days from the date of communication of a copy of this order.

The writ petition stands disposed of.

Urgent certified photocopy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties expeditiously on compliance of usual legal formalities.
