It is submitted jointly by the learned Advocate for the petitioner as well as the learned Advocate for the opposite party No.2 that the dispute between the parties has been amicably settled. On the last occasion, the learned Public Prosecutor-in-Charge was requested to direct the Officer-in-Charge of the jurisdictional police station to submit a report after examining the de-facto

complainant to ascertain as to whether the compromise has been effected freely and voluntarily.

The concerned police officer has submitted a report along with a statement made by Neha Singh, opposite party No.2 herein. It is stated by her that she has no dispute as the matter has been amicably settled out of Court.

In view of such circumstances, the case being G.R. Case No.296 of 2020 under Sections 498A/406 of the Indian Penal Code pending before the learned Chief Judicial Magistrate be quashed. The learned Chief Judicial Magistrate, Howrah is directed to pass appropriate order discharging the accused from the case. The report submitted by the Officer-in-Charge of the concerned police station be kept with the record.
