Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner submits as follows. Charge sheet has been submitted. In the present case a coaccused was standing on similar footing was granted anticipatory bail by this Court on 03.03.2025 in CRM (A) 737 of 2025. Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the State opposes the prayer for anticipatory bail and relies on the case diary. She points to the statement of eye witness and submits that while the co-accused who was granted anticipatory bail was on a much better footing, there are the specific allegations against the present petitioner that he was beating up the victim with a stick. The petitioner is substantially on the same footing as the co-accused, Tohid Sk. whose anticipatory bail prayer was turned down by this Court recently in CRM (A) 1125 of 2025.

Considering the incriminating materials available in the case diary including the alleged role ascribed to the present petitioner, I am not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner. Accordingly, the application for anticipatory bail is rejected. (Jay Sengupta, J.)
