No. 29 CHC Rejected C.R.M.(A) 1707 of 2023 In Re:- An application for anticipatory bail under Section 438 of the Code of Criminal Procedure in connection with Tamluk Police Station Case No. 211 of 2023 dated 04.03.2023 under Sections 498A/341/323/308/34 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 and read with Section 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act, 1961.

And In the matter of : Bapi Kallat ...... petitioner Mr. Shraman Sarkar ....for the petitioner Mr. Bidyut Kr. Roy, Ms. Rita Datta ....for the State The husband is before us.

There are materials in the case diary suggesting involvement of the petitioner in the incident. The case diary suggests that the victim was tortured on account of demand for dowry.

In such circumstances, we are unable to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

CRM (A) 1707 of 2023 is rejected.
