The petitioners are aggrieved by the fact that Pragati Maidan Police Station, Kolkata has not taken any steps despite a compliant dated 2nd March, 2022 against Chandan Pal, an ex employee.

Officer-in-Charge, Pragati Maidan Police Station has filed a report dated 9th February, 2023 and the same is taken on record.

It appears from the report that the only allegation is that the said Chandan Pal has used a letterhead of the company forging their signature to indicate that he has resigned from the said company and has been relieved. The police did not find any serious cognizable offence to be investigated.

In the above circumstances, this Court does not find any inaction on the part of the Pragati Maidan Police. Any further complaint of any misappropriation or any loss that may be caused to the company by reason of the said Chandan Pal may be addressed either by way of a further complaint to the police and/or in any other civil proceeding that may be instituted in accordance with law.

With the aforesaid directions, the writ petition shall stand disposed of.

There shall be no order as to costs.

All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.
