1. This writ petition has been filed with regard to the agitation which took place in the district court at Purba Bardhaman and the petitioner also seeks for a speedy trial in NDPS Case No.21 of 2022. In terms of the direction issued in an earlier writ petition in WPA 170 of 2023, normalcy has already been restored.

2. With regard to the direction sought for speedy trial, the same cannot be issued by this Court in a public interest litigation.

3. However, we grant liberty to the concerned accused to move the concerned Court for expeditious hearing of the said case.

4. With the above direction, the writ petition stands disposed of.
