The petitioners pray for stay of certain demand notices issued by the respondent no.4. After hearing the parties I pass the following directions:- If the petitioners deposit the entire claim of railways being Rs. 26,48,326/- as appears from the letter of the respondent no.4 dated 12th February, 2021 (vide page 93) of the writ application and go on paying the yearly rent in the current rate within a period of four weeks from date, the notices shall remain stayed for a period of six months. However, within this period of six months the respondent no.4 shall decide the representation dated 14th January, 2021 at page 89 of the writ application by giving an opportunity of hearing

to the petitioners though this representation has been addressed to the Senior Divisional Engineer (Central). This court directs the respondent no.4 to consider this representation after hearing the petitioners and pass a reasoned order. A copy of the reasoned order is to be supplied to the writ petitioners within the aforesaid six months period.

After considering the matter, if the respondent no.4 thinks that the total amount deposited by the petitioners or a part of it is to be refunded, the said amount would be adjusted against the yearly rent that would be paid by the writ petitioners.

With the above direction, this writ application is disposed of.
