ab Sl. 1 Ct.15 Re : Application for bail under Section 439 of the Code of Criminal Procedure filed on 2nd June, 2021 in connection with the Basirhat Police Station Case No. 261 of 2021 dated April 11, 2021 corresponding to G.R. Case No. 1605/2021 under Section 14 of Foreigners Act, 1946.

In Re :- Bikash Mondal ... Petitioner. Mr. Dipayan Kundu ... For the Petitioner. Mr. Rana Mukherjee (Ld. Addl. P.P.) Ms. Sujata Das ... For the State The petitioner is seeking bail in connection with a case relating to punishment under Section 14 of the Foreigners Act. Learned Additional Public Prosecutor produces documents and submits that charge-sheet has already been filed before the trial judge.

On perusal of the documents, I am of the opinion that the petitioner may be a Foreign National and this is not a fit case to grant bail to the petitioner at this stage. However, the learned Trial Judge is requested to complete the trial at an earliest, though we are passing through this pandemic situation.

The application for bail is, thus, rejected.
