1. Petitioners do not wish to press the bail application so far as petitioner no. 2 is concerned. Hence application is dismissed as not pressed with regard to petitioner no. 2.

2. We have examined the statements of witnesses. There is no specific overt act attributed to petitioner no. 1, father-in-law of the victim girl. Victim girl had committed suicide as her husband and others had objected to her pursuing higher education. In view of the extent of complicity of petitioner no. 1 in the crime and as there is no chance of abscondence, we are inclined to grant bail to petitioner no. 1.

3. Accordingly, the petitioner no. 1 Ranjit Khan be released on bail upon furnishing a bond of Rs. 10,000/- with two sureties of like amount each, one of whom must be local to the satisfaction of the learned ACJM Khatra, Bankura on condition that the petitioner no. 1 shall appear before the trial court on every date of hearing and shall not intimidate witnesses or tamper with evidence in any manner whatsoever.

4. In the event he fails to appear before the trial court without justifiable cause, the trial court shall be at liberty to cancel his bail automatically without reference to this court.

5. The application being CRM (DB) 1184 of 2024 is disposed of.
