Affidavit-of-service filed on behalf of the petitioner is taken on record.

Matter is heard in presence of the learned advocates representing the petitioner and the State respondents. 3.
It is alleged by the learned advocate representing the petitioner that on 17th April, 2026 petitioner was suddenly picked up from his place and was taken to concerned police station which prompted the petitioner to approach this Court with the present writ petition seeking necessary direction upon the concerned police authorities for providing assistance.

It is also prayed for in this writ petition for a direction upon the concerned police authority to provide list of criminal prosecutions pending against the petitioner. 5.
Mr. Amal Kumar Sen, learned Additional Advocate General appearing on behalf of the State respondents
[2] has filed a communication dated 23rd April, 2026 of Inspector-in-Charge, Falta Police Station, Diamond Harbour Police District along with certain documents and same are taken on record. Copy of the said communication dated 23rd April, 2026 is made over to the learned advocate representing the petitioner. 6.
It is submitted by Mr. Sen that there are three criminal prosecutions pending against the petitioner as disclosed in the said communication dated 23rd April, 2026 and out of those, the last one is Falta P.S. Case No.81 of 2026 dated 17th April, 2026 initiated under certain provisions of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 and Sections 25/27 of Arms Act.

In view of disclosure of number of criminal prosecutions pending against the petitioner, one of the grievances ventilated in this writ petition is found to be redressed. 8.
It is also disclosed in the said communication dated 23rd April, 2026 that the Investigating Officer in Falta P.S. Case No.81 of 2026 during investigation visited the place of occurrence and examined the available witnesses and recorded their statement under Section 180 of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023. In addition thereto it is further disclosed that on 17th April, 2026 petitioner was called for interrogation and statement of the petitioner was recorded in connection with Falta P.S. Case No.81 of 2026.

Therefore, allegations made by the petitioner against the concerned police authority found to be not substantiated.
10. In view of aforesaid scenario, the writ petition stands disposed of.
11. However, concerned police authorities are directed to maintain peace and tranquility at the locale and keep vigil.
