Affidavit of service filed in Court today, is taken on record.

Mr. Dilip Kumar Chatterjee, learned counsel appears for the petitioner.

None appears for the respondents, despite notice.

The petitioner retired from service of Calcutta State Transport Corporation (for short, CSTC) on January 31, 2024. The retiral benefits were paid in tranches.

Twenty per cent of the Contributory Provident Fund (CPF) has been paid amounting to a sum of Rs. 6,70,000/- on February 21, 2024. The petitioner claims balance eighty per cent of the CPF amount with interest.

Subject to verification of the relevant records, the respondent no.4 shall forthwith pay and release the balance eighty per cent of the CPF amount to

the petitioner with interest at the rate of six per cent per annum since February 1, 2024 till the actual payment to be tendered to the petitioner. The entire exercise including making the payment to the petitioner by crediting the Bank account of the petitioner shall be carried out and completed positively within a period of six weeks from the date of communication of this order. In the event of default, the interest shall be at the rate of eight per cent if the same is not paid within the said six weeks as directed above.

In the event, any assistance is required from the petitioner, the respondent no.4 shall call upon for the same and the petitioner shall render all necessary assistance to the respondent no.4.

Since affidavits are not called for, the allegations made in this writ petition are deemed not to have been admitted by the respondents.

With the above observations and directions, this writ petition, WPA 9575 of 2025 stands disposed of, without any order as to costs.
