The petitioner's claim in respect of certain death benefits in the name of his deceased wife stood rejected. An appeal has been preferred before the Zonal Manager of Life Insurance Corporation of India which is pending consideration.

Without entering into the merits of the representation filed before the Zonal Manager, the instant writ petition is disposed of by directing the Zonal Manager to consider the petitioner's representation in accordance with law, after affording an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner for production of all records in support of his claim. A reasoned order shall be passed by the aforesaid authority and communicated to the petitioner. Steps shall be taken in the matter at the earliest, but positively within eight weeks from the date of communication of this order.
