Mr. Somnath Naskar ... ... for the State This writ petition was filed in the year 2014 seeking a direction to the concerned respondents to approve the combined General Arrangement Drawing (GAD) for construction of ROB in lieu of Level Crossing Gate No.131/T and to complete the construction at the earliest.

In the petition various steps which were taken till the time of filing of the petition for making preparation to construct the bridge as also the encroachments existing at the site, were disclosed.

This Court had issued certain directions from time to time and in terms of the previous order of this Court the State has filed the report in the form of affidavit today.

The said report discloses that the work of ROB near Chuanpur railway crossing is going on. It also discloses the details of certain encroachments and official structures on the land of the ROB and steps which are being taken to remove those encroachments.

The report also discloses that work is in progress and approach road would be constructed after completion of ROB by the railway authorities.

Learned counsel for the petitioners on instructions has informed that the work of construction of ROB is at the final stage and has prayed for disposal of the petition with a direction to respondents to complete the said work without any unnecessary delay.

We find that after filing of the petition almost seven years have passed and in the intervening period the work of construction of ROB has progressed and as per the statement before this Court it has reached to the final stage.

Hence, we dispose of the present writ petition directing the concerned authorities to take expeditious steps to remove the obstructions coming in the way of final completion of the work and also to ensure that the work of construction of ROB is completed as expeditiously as possible.
