Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner and upon instructions from the petitioner who is present in Court submits as follows. The petitioner is a member of the local Panchayat and a worker of the opposition political party. On 01.04.2024, the 14-year-old son of the petitioner went missing. The petitioner went to lodge a missing diary and upon receiving such complaint, a specific FIR being Nodakhali P.S. Case No.126 dated 01.04.2024 was registered under Sections 363 and 365 of the Indian Penal Code. The police practically did nothing. Yet, the concerned Additional Superintendent of Police held a press conference to justify their actions. In the meantime, a call came from an unknown person to a teacher of the school of the petitioner's son that his child was seen in Puri on 01.04.2024. The child was recovered from Puri and his father brought the child back to West Bengal. Therefore, the

petitioner does not want to pray for any further relief in this writ petition.

Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the State relies on the report and submits as follows. The allegations made in the writ petition are denied. As a case of kidnapping was reported, naturally an FIR was registered. Police have taken steps in investigating the case.

It appears that the minor child has fortunately been recovered and is now with the father/petitioner. Let the investigation be concluded expeditiously and in accordance with law.

No further order need be passed in this regard. With these observations, the writ petition is disposed of. As affidavits were not called for, allegations contained in the writ petition are deemed not to have been admitted. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order may be supplied to the parties expeditiously, if applied for. (Jay Sengupta, J.)
