Subject to such undertaking the application is taken up for hearing.

The petitioner has filed the instant application for bail in connection with Madhyamgram Police Station Case No. 130 of 2018 dated 07.03.2018 under Sections 21(b)(ii)(c)/29 of the Narcotic Drugs & Psychotropic Substances Act. Indubitably commercial quantity of contraband was recovered from the joint possession of the petitioner and other accused persons. It is submitted by the learned Advocate for the petitioner that the case has matured considerably and is on the verge of completion.

In view of recovery of commercial quantity of contraband the rigor of Section 37 of the NDPS Act is attracted and as such, the prayer for bail is rejected.

The application being CRM 4006 of 2021 is accordingly dismissed.

However, we request the learned Special Judge, NDPS Court to complete the trial as expeditiously as possible, preferably within six months from the date of communication of this order.
