Learned advocate appearing for the CESC Limited submits on instructions that the private respondents are obstructing the CESC official from inspecting the premises. He seeks police protection.

A person in settled possession is entitled to electric supply. CESC Authority will inspect the property for the purpose of granting electricity to the petitioner. In the event, the CESC officials are obstructed in inspecting the property concerned, they are at liberty to approach the local police station for police assistance. The local police are directed to grant police assistance to the CESC

Authority. In the event CESC Authority upon inspection find that the electric supply to the petitioner can be granted then they shall proceed to do so subject to the petitioner paying all cost charges and expenses for the same and complying with all formalities. In the process of granting electric supply to the petitioner in the event the CESC Authorities face any obstruction from any quarter, they are at liberty to approach the police authorities for police assistance. Local police will render adequate police protection to the CESC Authority for the purpose of electric supply. WPA 10622 of 2021 is disposed of accordingly.
