The instant writ petition has been filed praying for a direction upon the Asansol Municipal Corporation to constitute the Mayor-in-Council of the Corporation. Instruction has been placed before this Court by the learned advocate representing the Asansol Municipal Corporation that the Mayor, Asansol Municipal Corporation nominated the Councillors viz. (1) Gurudas Chatterjee, (2) Dibyendu Bhagat, (3) Manas Das, (4) Subrata Adhikari and (5) Indrani Mishra as members of the Mayor-in-Council and oath of secrecy was administered on June 16, 2022 by the Mayor.

From the instruction received from the Corporation it is apparent that the relief sought for by the petitioner in the instant writ petition has been allowed.

It appears from the submission made on behalf of the petitioner that the petitioner has further grievances. It will be open for the petitioner to raise the grievances before the appropriate forum, if so advised. The writ petition stands disposed of.
