The grievance of the petitioner is directed against illegal disconnection of the electricity to the premises of the petitioner.

It is submitted on behalf of petitioner that the petitioner is a beneficiary of the above electricity connection and would be making a necessary application for name transfer in accordance with extant Regulations.

In view of the above, WPA 10310 of 2026 stands disposed of by granting liberty to the petitioner to make an appropriate application in accordance with law for name transfer. If such application is made within a period of seven days from date, the same should be processed within a week thereafter.

CESC Ltd. is also directed to restore the electricity connection of the petitioner within seven days of the above application being

processed subject to compliance with all necessary formalities.

The CESC is also directed to positively refund the security deposit of the erstwhile consumer as expeditiously as possible.
