Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that her son obtained the property from the petitioner and thereafter disconnected the electric supply.

Learned advocate appearing for the Distribution Company submits that once the petitioner applies in the correct format, such application will be considered in accordance with law.

In such circumstances, the petitioner is at liberty to make an application for new electricity connection.

Upon receipt of such application, the Distribution Company will proceed to grant a new electricity connection to the petitioner

subject to the payment of costs, charges and expenses thereof.

It is expected that the Distribution Company provides electric supply to the petitioner within a period of fortnight from the date of submission of the application and payment of costs, charges and expenses thereof.

In the process of providing electricity supply to the petitioner in the event the Distribution Company is resisted by any person, then the Distribution Company is at liberty to approach the local police authorities for police assistance. The local police authorities are directed to ensure that no breach of peace occurs at the locale while the petitioner is provided with the electricity supply.

W.P.A. 10638 of 2021 is disposed of.

The parties shall act in terms of the copy of the order downloaded from the official Website of this Court.
