Commercial quantity of contraband (codeine mixture) was recovered from the possession of the petitioner. In view of the restriction in Section 37 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, we are not inclined to entertain the petitioner's prayer for bail. The petitioner's first application praying for bail was rejected by this Court by an order dated June 17, 2019 passed in CRM 4271 of 2019. However, keeping in mind the fact that the petitioner has been in custody for about 2 years 6 months, we request the learned Court below to expedite the trial to the extent possible and bring the same to its logical conclusion as soon as the business of the Court may permit.

Accordingly, the prayer for bail is rejected. CRM No. 4125 of 2021 is, thus, dismissed.
