Sabir Ahmed ... for the State We have perused the report submitted by the Deputy Inspector General of Police (Special), CID, West Bengal shown to be signed on 11.01.2021. let the report be kept with the records. We have gone through the aforesaid report in detail and we are of the view that this is a case which does not deserve to be kept pending at this end, particularly in view of the steps taken by the Missing Person's Bureau, CID, West Bengal and the inferences drawn during the course of investigation. It is a matter of record that earlier, a writ petition being WP 4191(W) of 2011, was filed by the father of the missing person and thereafter, in the current writ petition which is WPA 8347 of 2011 the officer-in-charge of the Missing Person's Bureau, CID, West Bengal was directed to take immediate steps to trace out the missing lady. As discernible from report presented before us, going by the sequence of the investigative process, while the missing person is still not traced out, the investigator has, for reasons stated in the report, also

noticed that even the mother of the missing person is apparently aware of the possibility of the missing person having eloped with a person and therefore may be still not surfacing. In the aforesaid factual matrix, we are of the view that the ends of justice would be satisfied upon our recording the submission of the Deputy Inspector General of Police (Special), CID, West Bengal that sincere efforts are going on to trace out the missing lady and that further steps are being taken in that regard.

We, accordingly, dispose of this writ petition directing the CID, West Bengal to carry on with vigorous efforts to trace out the missing person in consonance with due procedure and in satisfaction of applicable laws.
