Another family dispute emerges between senior citizen parents and son and daughter-in-law, where torture by the son and daughter-in-law is alleged. Three complaints have been registered as FIR by the Sundarban Coastal Police Stations at the instance of the petitioners. The said FIRs have been investigated and charge sheets have been filed.

On the complaints received from the daughter-inlaw the police have registered FIRs and have filed charge sheets after investigation.

A gift deed executed by the petitioners in favour of their son on his property has been set aside by the Maintenance Tribunal under the provisions of the Senior Citizens Act on 14th March, 2023. The son has challenged the order of the SDO in a writ petition being WPA 955 of 2023 before this Court.

Subject to the result of WPA 955 of 2023, the petitioners shall be escorted back into their house by the Sundarban Coastal Police Station and shall occupy a room.

The son and daughter-in-law, who are represented before this Court, have no objection to the petitioners returning to the residence and residing thereat.

In the event of any assistance being required by the petitioners, they may approach the Sundarban Coastal Police, who shall render the same.

Both the petitioners and the private respondents undertake before this Court not to disturb each other. 8.

With the aforesaid directions, the writ petition is disposed of.

9.

There shall be no order as to costs.

10.

All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.
