The writ petitioners are aggrieved by the fact that they have applied for BPL ration card in the year 2019 and have not yet received the same.

Counsel for the State submits that the writ petitioner nos. 5, 6, 13, 15, 16 and 21 have already been issued ration cards and the same have been dispatched by post and is likely to reach them soon. In the event, however, they do not receive the same within the reasonable time, learned counsel for the State submits that they can approach the Area Inspector, Rajpur Sonarpur Municipality, Sonarpur Block.

It is further submitted that in respect of petitioner nos. 14 and 19, the applications are in the process of being finalised.

Insofar as the other petitioners are concerned, it is submitted that there is some discrepancy in the applications since they have submitted in the old application format and the bar code could not be detected properly. It is submitted that the petitioners should approach the aforesaid Area Inspector expeditiously to complete the required formalities, if any.

The petitioners may act accordingly.

This Court directs that the Area Inspector, Rajpur Sonarpur Municipality, Sonarpur Block be added as party respondent to the instant writ application.

The learned advocate on record of the petitioners shall effect necessary changes in the cause title in course of the day.

Mr. Bandyopadhyay, learned advocate accepts service on behalf of the added respondent.

With the aforesaid observations, the writ petition is disposed of.

There will be no order as to costs.

All parties are directed to act on a server copy of this order on usual undertaking.
