The petitioner is the father of one Sudip Mal. The said Sudip Mal died on September 26, 2022. The case of the petitioner is that a UD Case being No. 571 of 2022 dated September 27, 2022 was registered as would appear from the post mortem report dated September 27, 2022. Mr. Saikat Chatterjee, learned advocate representing the petitioner submits that on May 20, 2023 the concerned ASI of Tarapith Police Station served the notice upon the petitioner requesting him to lodge a specific compliant on the death of his son. On a query on this Court Mr. Chatterjee submits that the petitioner is agreeable to comply with the said request made by the concerned ASI of Tarapith Police Station.

In the event the petitioner makes a complaint to the police authorities on the death of his son, the concerned

police authority is directed to immediately act upon such complaint and to take expeditious steps on the basis of the said complaint in accordance with law. The police authorities shall also proceed with the investigation that has already been started upon registration of the aforesaid UD case.

With the above observations and directions the writ petition stands disposed of.
