Commercial quantity of contraband item was recovered from the possession of the petitioner. In view of the restriction in Section 37 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, we are not inclined to entertain the petitioner's prayer for bail.

The petitioner is in custody for about 1 year 10 months. The State says that supplementary charge sheet has also been submitted on November 30, 2020 after obtaining chemical analysis report.

In view of the fact that the petitioner has been in custody for quite sometime, we request the learned Court below to expedite consideration of the charge and proceed with the trial as expeditiously as possible.

The prayer for bail is rejected.
