Mr. Kanak Kiran Bandyopadhyay .for WBSEDCL The petitioner seeks restoration of the electricity connection for his residential premises located at Kadarat, R K Pally, Rajpur Sonarpur (M), Sonarpur, South 24 Parganas.

The petitioner alleges that his electricity connection was disconnected at the instance of respondent No. 7 on December 17, 2024.

On behalf of the West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (WBSEDCL), it is submitted that the disconnection was not effected by them. An attempt was made to restore the petitioner's electricity connection; however, due to resistance from certain local residents, the reconnection could not be completed.

It is an undisputed fact that the petitioner has no outstanding dues payable to WBSEDCL. Furthermore, the petitioner asserts that the reconnection fees have already been deposited with WBSEDCL.

In view of the foregoing, there appears to be no justification for keeping this writ petition pending. Accordingly, WBSEDCL is hereby directed to restore the electricity connection to the petitioner within seven days from the date of this order, subject to the petitioner's compliance with any requisite formalities.

The Officer-in-Charge of Narendrapur Police Station is directed to provide all necessary assistance to the officials of WBSEDCL in effecting the restoration of the petitioner's electricity connection. It is further directed that no cost shall be imposed by the police for rendering such assistance.

Accordingly, WPA 9941 of 2025 is disposed of. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the learned advocates for the parties on usual undertakings.
