Commercial quantity of contraband item was recovered from the possession of the petitioner. In view of the restriction in Section 37 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, we are not inclined to entertain the petitioner's prayer for bail.

The petitioner is in custody for about 2 years 1 month. Charges have been framed. 1 out of 11 witnesses has been examined. The petitioner prays for expedition. In view of the fact that the petitioner has been in custody for quite sometime, we request the learned Court below to expedite the trial to the extent possible and bring the same to its logical conclusion as early as the business of the court may permit.

The prayer for bail is rejected.
