In the matter of : Anupam Das ..... petitioner Mr. Moyukh Mukerjee .....For the petitioner Mr. Madhusudan Sur Mr. Dipankar Pramanick .....For the State This is a revisional application for expeditious disposal of the proceedings being A.C.G.R. Case No. 410/2019 under Section 408 of the Indian Penal Code pending before the learned Judicial Magistrate, 6th Court at Alipore.

It has been submitted by the learned advocate for the petitioner that after taking cognizance in this case, learned Magistrate could not proceed with the trial. He further submits that there are four witnesses to be examined and the trial should be expedited.

Mr. Madhusudan Sur, learned advocate, appears for the State.

It does not appear that there is any fault on the part of the learned Magistrate for not proceeding with the trial due to the pandemic situation. However, keeping in mind the innocuous nature of prayer of the petitioner, the revisional application is disposed of giving a direction upon the learned Magistrate below to make an endeavour to conclude the trial as expeditiously as possible.
