1. The petitioner approached being aggrieved by the inaction of the police authorities. One of the issues in the writ petition was that a delayed investigation was carried out by the English Bazar Police Station.

2. The State has submitted a report, which reflects that in connection with English Bazar Police Station Case No.1861/24 dated 17.12.2024, charge-sheet which has already been submitted before the jurisdictional court under the relevant provisions of law. As such, if the petitioner is aggrieved by the outcome of the investigation, the petitioner would ventilate his grievance before the learned Magistrate in seisin of the issue. In case any application is filed under the relevant provisions of law, learned Magistrate would deal with the same and dispose of the same within a reasonable period of time.

3. The petitioner has also expressed his apprehension relating to his insecurity and for providing him protection. In case any application is taken out before the learned Magistrate, a threat perception report be called for by the said court and necessary directions be passed thereafter under the Witness Protection Scheme, 2018.

4. With the aforesaid observation, WPA 9984 of 2025 is disposed of.

5. Report so submitted be taken on record and be handed over to the learned advocate appearing on behalf of the petitioner.
