The grievance of the petitioner is directed against inaction of the CESC Ltd. in providing a separate electricity connection to the premises of the petitioner.

On behalf of CESC Ltd., a communication dated 14th April, 2025 is handed over to the Advocates appearing on behalf of the petitioner. By such communication, CESC Ltd. has sought for ownership documents and bonafide occupancy documents in terms of the extant Rules and Regulations.

The private respondents are represented and submits that the petitioner is an unauthorized occupant and is not entitled to any electricity connection.

In view of the above, WPA 10518 of 2026 stands disposed of by granting liberty to the petitioner to comply with all statutory formalities

raised by the CESC Ltd. If such compliance is made, CESC Ltd. is directed to act in accordance with law.

In the eventuality that any such connection is granted by CESC Ltd., the concerned police authorities are directed to provide all assistance to the CESC Ltd. Any payment or costs incurred in the above exercise is to be borne exclusively by the petitioner.

The CESC Ltd. is directed to consider all the above facts and circumstances in disposing of the application of the petitioner.
