The petitioner is in custody for about six months and renews his prayer for bail.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that some of the co-accused are still absconding and the case is yet to be committed to the Court of Sessions.

Learned counsel for the State opposes the prayer. Bail prayer of the petitioner was turned down by this Court on 19th February, 2025 upon consideration of the material on record. There is no change of circumstance which warrants a favourable order for the petitioner at this stage.

Accordingly, the prayer for bail is rejected at this stage. The application for bail is disposed of.

However, since charge sheet has been submitted, learned trial Court is directed to take necessary steps to secure the attendance of the absconding accused persons and expedite the trial, in accordance with law.
