Mr. Santanu Chatterjee ....for the State There is a statement recorded under Section 164 of the Criminal Procedure Code implicates the petitioner. Attention of the Court is drawn to a photocopy of a compromise recorded on January 12, 2023.

The compromise speaks of a marriage to be solemnized over a period of time. It also speaks of dowry. Consequently, in our view, a case for investigation stands made out as against the petitioner.

Prima facie a case is made as against the petitioner.

In such circumstances, we are unable to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

CRM (A) 1789 of 2023 is rejected.
