The grievance of the petitioners pertains to nonconsideration of a representation to seek permission of the petitioner association to hold a meeting.

The petitioners rely on a communication dated May 14, 2022 seeking permission to hold such meeting on May 18, 2022.

The State is represented and submits that the impugned notice has become infructuous with the passage of time. It is further submitted on behalf of the State that if and when the petitioner association makes a representation seeking permission to hold any meeting on any future date, the State shall consider the same expeditiously and in accordance with law.

In view of the aforesaid, WPA 9609 of 2022 is disposed of as infructuous.

Liberty is granted to the petitioners to make a fresh representation before the concerned State authorities in accordance with law. In case, such representation is made, the State authorities are directed to consider the same expeditiously in accordance with law.
