This is the sixth application for grant of bail. Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner draws the attention of the Court to the contents of the First Information Report (FIR) and to the evidence. He submits that, there is no allegation against his client. He submits that, despite the subsisting order for expeditious trial, there is no progress. State is represented.

The last order of rejection of bail is dated July 8, 2020. There is hardly any change in circumstance subsequent to such order of rejection.

The ongoing pandemic affected the judiciary as other parts of society and, therefore, the claim of delay in trial should not be of a prime consideration in the facts and circumstances

of the present case. However, since the petitioner seeks expeditious disposal, it would be appropriate to request the Trial Court not to grant any adjournment to the petitioner. Accordingly, prayer for bail is rejected and the application being CRM 4297 of 2021 is disposed of. (Debangsu Basak, J.) (Ananda Kumar Mukherjee, J.)
