Petitioner seeks new electricity connection.

Distribution Company and State are represented. Learned advocate for the Distribution Company submits that the petitioner did not submit valid documents of possession. The petitioner also did not provide way lead for the Distribution Company to provide electricity supply. According to her, the private respondents are obstructing the Distribution Company from providing electricity supply to the petitioner. Learned advocate for the petitioner draws attention of this court to page 13 of the petition which is the record of rights. A person in settled position is entitled to electricity supply.

The petitioner is in possession of the property concerned.

In such circumstances, the Distribution Company will proceed to provide new electricity connection to the petitioner on payment of all costs, charges and expenses in respect thereof. In the event the Distribution Company is obstructed in any manner in doing so, the Distribution Company will approach the local police authorities for police assistance. The police authorities will provide police protection to the Distribution Company and to the petitioner to provide new electric connection to the petitioner. It is expected that the Distribution Company provides electricity connection within a fortnight from the date of communication of this order to them.

WPA 10788 of 2021 is disposed of without any order as costs.
