Mr.

Bhattacharyya, learned Senior Standing Counsel, who usually represents the State is present in Court and is requested to appear in this matter. Let the appointment of Mr. Bhattacharyya along with a junior of his choice be regularised by the concerned authority.

A copy of the writ petition has been served upon Mr. Bhattacharyya in course of hearing of this writ petition. After going through the averments made in this writ petition, this Court finds that the petitioner has challenged the inaction on the part of an authority under the West Bengal Land Reforms Act, 1955, which is a specified Act under Section 2(r) of the West Bengal Land Reforms and Tenancy Tribunal Act, 1997.

In view of the availability of alternative efficacious remedy under the 1997 Act, this Court is not inclined to entertain this writ petition.

Accordingly, the writ petition stands dismissed as not entertained.

It is, however, made clear that this order shall not prevent the petitioners from approaching the appropriate authority in accordance with law on the selfsame cause of action.

There will be no order as to costs.
