The writ petitioners complain that the private respondents are harassing them in connection with title over a piece of land. It is submitted that the private respondents keep threatening the petitioners with physical harm to evict them from the said property.

Proceedings under the West Bengal Land Reforms Act initiated by the private respondents have also been dismissed. The petitioners claim that they have lodged a complaint with the Indus Police Station in Bankura district that is being registered as G. D. No. 818 of 2021 dated 19th June, 2021. No further steps have been taken according to Mr. Arefin.

Mr. Siddiqui, learned advocate appearing for the State submits that his client has been

properly active in the matter and has initiated proceedings under Section 107 of the Cr. P. C. The parties have also been directed to ensure that there is status quo and peace maintained in the area.

Let the instructions of the Indus Police Station given the State Counsel be filed by tomorrow. Let a copy of such report be also given to Mr. Arefin, learned counsel for the petitioner.

The Indus Police Station shall ensure that there is no breach of peace in the area. The parties may agitate their dispute as regards the title to the land-in-question, before a Civil Court.

With the aforesaid observations, the writ petition is disposed of.

There will be no order as to costs.

All parties are directed to act on a server copy of this order on usual undertaking.
