The petitioner renews his prayer for bail which was rejected by a co-ordinate Bench of this Court on July 19, 2019 in CRM 6357 of 2019. The charge is under Sections 489B/489C of the Indian Penal Code.

The State says that five out of thirteen witnesses have already been examined.

The petitioner says that he is in custody for about two years and five months.

Given the nature of the charge and that trial is in progress, as also in view of the earlier rejection of the petitioner's prayer, we are not inclined to allow this application.

CRM 4343 of 2021 is dismissed.

However, considering the lengthy detention of the petitioner, we request the learned Trial Court to expedite the trial and bring the same to its logical conclusion as soon as the business of the Court may permit.
