The petitioner is an Assistant Teacher in the subject History at Mejia Girls High School (H.S.), District : Bankura.

The petitioner successively applied for general transfer through Utsashree Portal, last of her such application was returned with remarks "due to low rank in preferred school applied by the candidate".

The petitioner had challenged the legality and propriety of the said remark in WPA 10013 of 2022 which was disposed of vide order dated December 05, 2022 with a direction upon the West Bengal Central School Service Commission to decide the prayer of the petitioner.

The Chairman of the West Bengal Central School Service Commission by an order bearing Memo No. 285(3)/L-4860/CSSC/ESTT/2023 dated February 28, 2023 has rejected the

prayer of the petitioner for such general transfer.

The said order is under challenge in the present writ petition.

The prayer of the petitioner for general transfer has been rejected inter alia on the grounds that the ranking of the petitioner is lower than the other candidates in the preferred schools and the said candidates are senior than the petitioner. The pupil- teacher ratio of the school where the petitioner is now posted is 71:1. The said school is under acute shortage of teachers.

This Court does not find any illegality and/or infirmity in the order impugned warranting interference.

W.P.A. 10083 of 2023 is dismissed without any order as to costs.
