1. The Director General and Inspector General of Police, West Bengal has filed a detailed report. He had appointed a Deputy Inspector General of Police, Medinipur Range, Kharagpur to cause an enquiry. The Deputy Inspector General of Police, Medinipur Range, Kharagpur has submitted a report dated 18th June, 2023 to the Director General and Inspector General of Police, West Bengal.

2. The petitioner shall notify to come and appear before the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Medinipur Range, Kharagpur and participate in the enquiry. He did not do so. A copy of the notice addressed to the petitioner is kept with the record.

3. The report of the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Medinipur Range, Kharagpur indicates that the allegations against the Panskura Police Station and the Civic Volunteer could not be substantiated.

4. The report of the Director General and Inspector General of Police, West Bengal is kept with the record.

5. Since the petitioner says that huge amount of money is lying in the account of the concerned Police Officer, the Enforcement Directorate may, in their own discretion, cause enquiries and take steps as they may be entitled in law.

6. Let a copy of the report of the Director General and Inspector General of Police, West Bengal be handed over to the Counsel for the petitioner.

7. With the aforesaid observations, the instant writ petition shall stand disposed of.

8. There will be no order as to costs.

9. All parties are directed to act on a server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.
