The petitioner, who is the husband of the victim, renews his prayer for bail which was rejected by this Court by an order dated April 20, 2021 in C.R.M. 1712 of 2021.

The petitioner says that he is not involved in the alleged offence at all. In fact, he tried to save his wife, the victim and in the process suffered severe burn injuries himself. Charge is yet to be framed. He is in custody for 375 days.

We have considered the material in the Case Diary including the statements of witnesses and the post mortem report. The material prima facie incriminates the petitioner. Further, there is a rejection of his prayer for bail as recently as on April 20, 2021.

In view of the aforesaid, we are not inclined to allow the petitioner's prayer for bail at this stage.

Accordingly, the application for bail being C.R.M. 4390 of 2021 is dismissed.

However, in view of the fact that the petitioner has been in custody for quite sometime, we request the learned trial Court to expedite the consideration of charges and generally bring the trial to its logical conclusion as soon as the business of the Court may permit.
