A dead body was recovered. Thereafter, it was alleged that since the petitioner had given an indecent proposal to the victim, he must have been responsible for the murder of the victim lady. Soon thereafter the murder weapon was purportedly recovered pursuant to a statement made by the present petitioner. The petitioner is in custody for about 180 days. A charge sheet has already been submitted.
Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the State submits as follows. There is a witness to the 'last seen together' circumstance. The murder weapon was also recovered pursuant to a statement of the accused in the presence of the independent witnesses.
In view of the purported complicity of the present petitioner in the alleged offence we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner at this stage.
Accordingly, the application for bail is rejected. The learned Trial Court shall take appropriate measures to conclude the proceeding expeditiously.
