We have considered the materials on record. Statements of witnesses including the victim implicate the petitioner in the offence of abduction and demand of ransom. Co-accused has absconded. In view of gravity of the offence and incriminating materials on record we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.

The application for bail is, thus, rejected.

Trial Court is directed to take necessary steps to ensure the attendance of the absconding accused and in the event his attendance cannot be procured inspite of exhaustion of all processes to declare him as proclaimed offender and commit the case to the Court of Sessions at the earliest without granting unnecessary adjournment to either of the parties.
