Majumdar ...for the petitioner The petitioner complains that the private respondents, son, and daughter-in-law are torturing him and attempting to dispossess him from his property. The petitioner has lodged a complaint with the District Magistrate, Nadia in this regard under Section 22 of the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007.

It is ordered that the said application be transferred to the SDO under the provisions of the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007.

The SDO shall immediately take up the matter and dispose of the same in accordance with law. In the meantime, the Officer-in-Charge, Bhimpur Police Station shall ensure that the petitioner is not disturbed by the private respondents. The Bhimpur PS shall depute a constable to warn the private respondents suitably.

The Bhimpur PS shall attend to any serious complaint made by the petitioner against expeditiously. With the aforesaid observations, the instant writ petition shall stand disposed of.

There shall be no order as to costs.
