WPA 10683 of 2026 (Siddheswari Biswas vs. State of West Bengal & Ors.) Mr. Shibaji Kr. Das Mr. Dipendu Sarkar .... For the Petitioner Affidavit of service filed by the petitioner is taken on record.

The respondents are not represented despite service. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the husband of the petitioner Ranjan Biswas expired on 28th March, 2023 leaving behind the petitioner and two daughters as his legal heirs. The petitioner submitted an application before the Pradhan, Debogram Gram Panchayat, being 5th respondent herein for issuance of legal heir certificate in favour of the petitioner and her two daughters. The application is still pending.

The petitioner seeks consideration of the same and issuance of legal heir certificate in their favour.

Upon consideration of the submission made on behalf of the parties, the respondent is directed to consider and dispose of the application submitted by the petitioner dated 20th April, 2026 within two weeks from the date of communication of this order upon granting reasonable opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and her two daughters and upon compliance of all requisite formalities. The writ petition is disposed of.

There shall be no order as to costs.

Since no affidavit has been invited, allegations contained in the writ petition shall be deemed not to have been admitted.

Urgent certified website copy of the order, if applied for, be given to the parties on compliance of requisite formalities.
